Recognition for a Couple of Our Own

Sporting St. Louis’s Billy Hency and Joe Spotanski earn recognition as Future Stars.

Along with its new crop of inductees at this fall’s banquet, St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame will recognize four players in their senior year of high school: Billy Hency, Joe Spotanski, Emily Groark, and Hannah Friedrich. These seniors will be honored as 2017 Future Stars at the Hall of Fame’s October 19th induction ceremony.

Billy and Joe play on Sporting St. Louis’s U19 McMahon Ford team and have been tearing it up for school and club. Billy Hency won honors as Missouri’s Gatorade Player of the Year, was named an NSCAA All-American, and honored as Missouri Class 3 Player of the Year. He plays his high school ball for Rockwood Summit High School. Joe Spotanski was named Missouri Class 3 Offensive Player of the Year. Joe plays high school ball at Fort Zumwalt South.

Great accomplishments, gentlemen!
